Program Info
We love child sponsorships because they capture and encompass so much of our philosophy on giving. First of all, we believe that relationship is a key component of charity. And the core of child sponsorships is relationship. Sponsors receive letters and pictures from their child and are able to be an integral part of their child’s life. Additionally, we believe that everyone deserves to feel the joy of being a part of something bigger than themselves. And that is what is beautiful about this program: for only $30 per month you can honestly make a huge difference in the life of a kid here. Our hope is that we will have everyone from stay-at-home moms to financial advisors to college students participating in this program.
How it Works
Sponsors are encouraged to look through the photos below and choose a kid they would like to sponsor. Click the “Subscribe” button below your child’s photo and you will be taken to a paypal page where you will sign up to make a recurring $30 donation every month. We ask that sponsors commit to at least a year of sponsorship in the beginning. In order to ensure that every kid is sponsored, we have set an initial limit of two sponsors per child. If a kid already has two sponsors, you will see an “Already Sponsored” message underneath their photo.
If you are interested in a long-term sponsorship that goes beyond a year, we encourage you to consider sponsoring a baby or toddler. This will allow you to develop a long-term relationship with your child and see them grow up before your eyes. Sponsors will receive letters and photos from their child twice a year, once in June and again in December. Sponsors will also have the opportunity to send letters and care packages to their child if they wish.
Where The Money Goes
Almost all of your money goes to meeting the basic needs of the kids at the orphanage. MTC is a volunteer-run organization with almost no administration or travel costs. Your money will be spent specifically on purchasing food and clothes for your child. It will also go to pay necessary bills at the orphanage like water and electricity. If you are interested in making a donation to help with the educational costs of your child, we encourage you to look through our School Sponsorship page and sign up to cover their schooling costs.
